Carlos Velasco is a multidisciplinary creative based in New York. His work centers around themes of Latino identity in the United States. In particular, he finds interest in the connection between Western value systems and the quotidian aspects of Mexican culture. Carlos immigrated to the U.S. from Aguascalientes, Mexico, as a child. He spent his childhood in rural Nebraska, forming an experience as a first-generation immigrant that has inspired his practice to this day. He holds a BFA in Design from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and currently works as a designer at an advertising agency in New York City.
